FUDGE BARSSource: Pennsylvania Bed & Breakfast Guide and Cookbook: Central Region by Karen ShughartFrom: Candlelight Inn Makes 16 to 32 bars depending on size of cuts. 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter 2 1/4 cups brown sugar 2 eggs 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1/2 cup shredded coconut 1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt 1 cup butter, and mix together with brown sugar, eggs, flour, salt, vanilla, nuts, and coconut. Melt chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons butter, and sweetened condensed milk over boiling water, stirring until smooth. Spread half of brown sugar dough into a lightly greased 9-by-13-inch baking pan. Top with chocolate mixture. Spread remaining brown sugar dough over chocolate and swirl slightly. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool slightly and cut into bars.
