GARLIC-BASIL BREAD

Make 1 1/2-pound recipe for bread machines that use 3 cups flour, or make 1 pound recipe for bread machines that use 2 cups flour.

1-POUND RECIPE (8 SLICES):
3/4 cup water
2 teaspoons margarine or butter, softened
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
2 cups bread flour
1 tablespoon dry milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

1 1/2-POUND RECIPE (12 SLICES):
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon margarine or butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons dry milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
2 1/4 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Measure carefully, placing all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.

Select Basic/White cycle. Use Medium or Light crust color.

Remove baked bread from pan and cool on wire rack.
