Mom's Soft Chocolate Cookies
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup milk
Cream together shortening, sugar and egg. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350. These are soft cake-like cookies. Do not overbake.
