SEVEN-LAYER COOKIES
3 tablespoons butter or margarine 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs 1 cup coconut 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate bits 1 cup butterscotch bits 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or mixed) 1 (15 ounces) can sweetened condensed milk
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Put butter in a 9-inch square pan and place in oven until melted.
When butter has melted, spread crumbs evenly over butter. Now spread coconut, then chocolate bits, butterscotch bits, then nuts. Do not mix layers. Spread or pour condensed milk over all.
Bake at 325 for about 30 minutes (25 minutes if using glass dish).
Cut into 1 1/2 inch squares. Freezes well.
Yield 36 squares.
