Here's an easy and delicious recipe:

BANANA MACADAMIA TART

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, defrosted according to package directions
4 Tbs. butter
6 Tbs. granulated sugar
5 bananas, cut into thirds on bias
3 Tbs. dark rum
1/4 cup toasted, chopped macadamia nuts

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

On a lightly floured work surface, roll the pastry to a thickness of 1/8 inch. Using a plate or cake pan as a guide, trim the pastry to form a 10-inch circle. Transfer pastry to a plate or small baking sheet while you prepare the bananas.

Place an oven proof 10" saute pan over medium low heat and add butter to pan. Once the butter is melted, sprinkle sugars evenly over pan.

Cook the butter and the sugars until the butter begins to brown, about three minutes. Add the bananas without turning, for 2 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and add the rum. Raise the heat to medium high and cook an additional 2 minutes.

Lay the cold puff pastry over the bananas and cut several slits in the pastry to allow the steam to escape.

Transfer the pan to the oven and bake until the puff pastry is golden and puffed, about 15 minutes.

Working carefully, invert the tart onto a large serving plate. Serve drizzled with chocolate sauce and garnish with macadamia nuts.
