Okay, Gladys posted it, it's a Julia Child recipe, and my daughter's name is Kate. I had to try it. However, I think this recipe must have been formulated before the term Brownie became common! After baking it, I checked with the Hershey recipe for brownies on the back of their unsweetened cocoa bars (which I made just last week), and they are nearly the same. The Hershey recipe uses 4 oz more butter, a smaller pan, and longer baking time, that's about it.

Kate's Great Chocolate Fudge cake turned out a little over-done at 25 minutes, hard at the edges and chewy in the middle, definitely not a cake at all. Nice flavor, though. In the future, I'll stick with the Hershey recipe.
