GRILLED SOURDOUGH BREAD
4 slices bacon, crisply cooked, drained and crumbled 1 lb loaf sourdough bread, cut into 1-inch slices 3 tbsp margarine or butter, softened 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (6 oz.) 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Cook bacon until crisp. Drain and crumble; set aside.
Preheat gas or charcoal grill.
Lightly spread one side of each slice of bread with margarine. Place margarine side down, on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle cheese, bacon, and parsley evenly on bread slices.
WHEN READY TO COOK: Place slices, margarine side down, directly on gas grill over medium-high heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium-high coals. Cook 4 to 6 minutes or until bottom of bread is toasted and cheese is warm.
