OATMEAL-PEANUT DROPS FOR THE BOYS
3/4 cup seedless raisins boiling water (to soak raisins) 1/4 cup shortening 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup peanut butter 2 eggs, beaten 1/4 cup milk 1 1/2 cups flour, sifted 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 3/4 cup quick cooking rolled oats
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Pour boiling water over raisins, let stand for 5 minutes, drain on absorbent towel or paper; set aside.
Cream shortening, add sugar, and cream fluffy. Add peanut butter, mix well. Add eggs and milk.
Sift together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Add vanilla, drained raisins, and oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees F) for 15 minutes.
