WALNUT BREAD

1 cup butter or margarine, at room temperature
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups sour cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 2 (9x5-inch) loaf pans.

Cream the butter and sugar until fully blended. Slowly beat in the eggs.

Sift the flour, salt, and baking soda, and add to the egg mixture. Blend in the nuts, vanilla, and sour cream. Pour batter into prepared loaf pans.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then invert onto wire rack.

Makes 2 loaves
