SUGARED NUTS
Makes about 3 pounds

2 cups light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup pecans
2 cups walnuts
1 cup unblanched almonds

Combine sugars and sour cream in a large sauce pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugars melt.

Continue cooking without stirring (it will turn sugar if stirred) Let it reach 238 degrees on candy thermometer (or until a little dropped into cold water until makes small ball) Remove from heat. Stir softly until all meats are covered. Spread on wax paper until dry.

With a fork separate meats.
