Chocolate Cornflake Cakes

Too good to scoff just at kiddies birthday parties, Nigel Slater's cornflake cakes are a real treat worth indulging in

50g butter
4 tbsp golden syrup
100g plain chocolate
75g cornflakes

Gently melt the butter, syrup and chocolate in a small, heavy pan. Stir in the cornflakes.

Place large spoonfuls of the mixture on a buttered baking sheet and leave to set in the refrigerator.

Servings: Makes about 15
