MAPLE TOASTED ONION BUTTER

1 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened, divided use
2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon, maple flavor

In 8-inch skillet melt 1 tablespoon butter; stir in onions. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until onions are golden (1 to 2 minutes). Remove from heat; cool 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, in small mixer bowl beat remaining butter at medium speed until creamy (1 to 2 minutes). Reduce speed to low; add onions, maple syrup and maple flavor. Continue beating until well mixed (1 to 2 minutes).

Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour to enhance flavors.

"Flavored butters tailor foods to your moods. For spreading on breads and scones, tossing with pasta, topping baked potatoes, stirring into soup, melting overfish - you can easily perk up anything you cook or serve."
