MOLASSES MAGIC PORK CHOPS
6 loin pork chops, 1-inch thick 1 tsp salt, divided use 1/2 tsp. sage oil (for browning chops) 3 large tart apples 3 tbsp. Brer Rabbit Molasses 5 tbsp. flour 2 cups hot water 1 tbsp. vinegar 1/3 cup seedless raisins
Sprinkle chops with 1/2 teaspoon salt and sage. Brown well on fat edge; brown on both sides. Arrange in layer in baking dish.
Core apples; cut in 1/4-inch slices; place on chops. Add molasses.
Add flour to fat in skillet; cook until browned, stirring constantly. Add water; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Add vinegar, the remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt and raisins; pour over chops and apples.
Cover; bake in moderate oven, 350 degree F, 1 hour, or until apples are tender.
