EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA BBQ SAUCE2 cups cider or white vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar or brown sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne or red pepper flakes
Combine in a bowl and stir to dissolve sugar. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
