SPICY BEEF STEW
1 /2 pounds beef cubes (1 1/2 inch) 2 tablespoons shortening 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can Campbell’s Golden Mushroom Soup, undiluted 1/4 cup water 1/2 cup chopped canned tomatoes 1 teaspoon wine vinegar Generous dash ground cinnamon 2 whole cloves 16 small whole white onions (about 1 pound) Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
In large heavy pan, brown beef in shortening; pour off fat.
Stir in remaining ingredients except onions and rice. Cover; cook over low heat 1 hour 30 minutes.
Add onions; cook 1 hour more or until done. Stir occasionally.
Serve over rice.
