TACO SEASONING MIX

"This is a hot and spicy mix. If you prefer a milder mix, reduce the red pepper."

2 tsp instant minced onion
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp crushed dried red pepper (or red pepper flakes)
1/2 tsp instant minced garlic
1/4 tsp dried oregano leaves
1/2 tsp ground cumin

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl until evenly distributed. Spoon mixture onto a 6-inch square of aluminum foil and fold to make airtight. Label with date and contents. Store in a cool, dry place and use within 6 months.

Using the above recipe as a guide you can increase the amounts to make any number of packages.

TACO FILLING
Makes enough filling for 8 to 10 tacos

1 pound of ground beef
1/2 cup water
1 package (about 2 tablespoons) Taco Seasoning Mix

Brown ground beef and drain the grease. Add 1/2 cup water and Taco Seasoning Mix. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
