Recipe: Apple-Pie Spice Mix

Apple-Pie Spice

Makes a scant 1/2 cup

1/4 cup cinnamon
2 tablespoons ground nutmeg
2 teaspoons ground ginger

USES:

- Add 1 tsp. per pie to apple-pie filling.

- Stir into applesauce.

- Stir into crumb topping for coffeecake.

- Heat with apple cider. Pour through coffee filter lined strainer before drinking.

- Simple Spice Cookies: Sprinkle over sliced refrigerator sugar cookie dough before baking.

- While you're at it, keep this in mind for gifts. Just put it in a pretty jar, and attach a few recipe suggestions with a ribbon.
