Quick Tomato Spice Cake

1 package (2 layer) spice cake mix
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup water
1 can (10 3/4 ounce) condensed tomato soup
2 eggs

Frosting
6 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon milk
1 pound powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Combine cake mix, baking soda, water and condensed tomato soup. Mix and bake cake as directed on package. Frost, if desired, with Cream Cheese Frosting.

To make frosting:
Blend 6 ounces cream cheese with 1 tablespoon milk. Gradually add 1 package (1 pound) of sifted powdered sugar; blend well. Mix in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Makes enough frosting for 2 (8-inch) layers. If desired, sprinkle top with maple sugar.
