Low-Fat Stir Fry with Leftover Turkey newsgroup posting/Zaphod&Trillian
1 or 2 carrots, peeled and sliced diagonally 1 or 2 stalks celery, cut to match the carrots in size 1 onion, peeled and cut to match the size of the carrots 1 or 2 cups cooked turkey meat, cut the same size as the rest 1 or 2 tbsp cornstarch 1 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp vegetable oil any other veggies you want to add chicken broth
Mix the soy sauce, cornstarch and 1 or 2 Tb chicken broth. Add the cooked turkey, stir to coat, and marinate for 10 minutes. Heat the oil in a wok, add the vegetables and cook, stirring constantly, until they are slightly browned. Add the turkey and stir over the heat. Add more chicken broth until the sauce is the desired consistency. Serve with rice.
Note: for variations in taste, add 1 Tbsp sesame seeds, or 1 Tbsp hoisin sauce, or minced garlic, or minced gingerroot or Chinese 5-spice powder. |
