Wrangler Meatballs alt.cooking-chien/Chris or Fran Twidt
3 lbs lean ground round 1 cup soy sauce 1 tsp ground ginger 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 cup water 2 tbsp. sugar 3 tbsp. rum, bourbon, or red wine Prepared horseradish sauce, chili sauce or picante sauce for dipping.
Form 1-inch balls with ground round and place in large baking dish..(I use iron skillet). Combine soy, ginger, water, sugar and liqueur. Pour over balls, bake in preheated 275 degree oven for 45 minutes to one hour, turning several times to make sure they are well coated. Remove from pan and place on serving tray with one of sauces listed above for dipping.
