Ed's Peach Cobbler
rec.food.cooking/Cap'n Buckwheat

This recipe is from my dad's PA Dutch side of the family and the recipe is 150 years old! We serves it warm with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Yum!

3/4 cup sugar
2 cups of fresh peaches (peeled and pitted, sliced into wedges)
3/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of flour
3/4 cup of milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1 stick of butter

Mix the 3/4 cup of sugar with the peaches. Let stand. Combine 3/4 cup of sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add the milk. Do not overbeat. In 8-inch square pan, melt the butter. Pour the batter over the butter, but do not mix them in. Place the peach mixture on top. Bake at 350 oven for about 1 hour.
