Sweet Potato Cookies

Makes 3 dozen
1/4 cup milk
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup honey
1 cup grated raw sweet potato
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Preheat oven to 350F (175C). Combine sugar and butter or margarine. Blend in egg, honey, and sweet potato. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Blend in butter mixture and milk. Drop from a teaspoon 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until brown.
