Beef Brisket (roaster oven) rec.food.cooking/Marvel Lowry (1997)
6 lb brisket 3 tbsp liquid smoke garlic powder, to taste onion salt, to taste celery salt, to taste
SAUCE 1 cup catsup 1 tsp salt 1 tsp celery seed 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce 2 cups water 1 onion, chopped 1/4 cup vinegar
Sprinkle brisket with liquid smoke and seasonings. Allow to stand overnight, covered with foil and refrigerate.
The next morning, sprinkle with pepper and worcestershire sauce.
Cover and bake 5 hrs at 275 degrees
Drain grease, uncover and bake 1 hr with barbecue sauce ingredients that have been combined and boiled for 15 minutes.
I use my Nesco oven, but any oven will do. ENJOY. |
