Chinese Spare Ribs Rec.food.cooking/Bob Gottlieb (2001) Servings: 2
1 pound spare ribs 3 cloves garlic crushed 1/2 teaspoon ginger finely grated 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 tablespoon honey 1 tablespoon Chinese wine 1/2 teaspoon 5 spice powder
Trim fat from the spareribs. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Add the ribs and mix together well. Marinate for 20 minutes. Half fill a roasting pan with boiling water and place a wire rack across the top of the pan.. Place the ribs on the rack and roast in a 400° oven for 30 minutes. Turn ribs over and brush with remaining marinade and cook for a further 15 minutes.
Serving Ideas: Serve with plum sauce or Hoisin sauce.
