500 Fat-Free Recipes (Dean Ornish friendly!)

Misc.
DH and I were killing time in a Half Price Books yesterday while getting new tires put on our vehicle. Browsing the cookbook aisles (of course!) I found 500 Fat-Free Recipes, A Complete Guide to Reducing the Fat in Your Diet by Sarah Schlesinger, 500 Recipes from Soup to Dessert Containing One Gram of Fat or Less. It was $6.98 and after a cursory perusal I decided to buy it (after finding a fat-free tortilla recipe in it). Imagine my delight later that evening when I sat down at home to go thru it more thoroughly and found the author mentioning in the forward that she and her husband had been using Dean Ornish's program since 1991! She states she compiled this comprhensive collection of fat-free recipes which she developed after spending frantic, seemingly endless hours searching through hundreds of cookbooks looking for recipes that met their new fat-free criteria, finding them almost non-existent. She does make use of unsweetened cocoa powder and white wine in some of the recipes. I had thought they were on the list of foods to avoid, but I may be mistaken. Can't wait to try her recipes! Tomorrow I am seeing a nutritionist who is very familiar with the Dean Ornish plan and says she is interested in seeing how creative I have been with it. I just found a tool to help even more with that aspect!
I also bought 366 Healthful Ways to Cook Leafy Greens by Linda Romanelli Leahy for $5.98. I'm very interested in incorporating more leafy greens into my diet.-Micha
