Request: Italian bakery butter/party cookies

I'm looking for a recipe that can duplicate what we New Yorkers would call
"Italian bakery cookies". They are like a molded butter cookie but not
quite like a spritz cookie. These cookies have an almondy flavor and are
often sandwiched with either jelly or chocolate or iced with lots of
sprinkles. You know the ones I mean...shaped like leaves or stars...usually
tinted pink or green. I'm having a major hankering for them (aww come
on..I'm pregnant, indulge me!!) Anyone out there have the recipe?
