Recipe: Deep Dish Pizza (using Chef Boyardee Pizza Kit / Mix)
Pizza/FocacciaDEEP DISH PIZZA
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes (drained?)
1 pkg. Chef Boyardee cheese or pepperoni pizza mix
2 (6 oz.) pkg. natural low moisture part skimmed Mozzarella cheese slices
Brown meat in a skillet, drain. Add onion and green pepper to skillet; cook until tender.
Stir in tomatoes and pizza sauce and simmer 15 minutes.
Heat oven to 425 degrees F.
Prepare pizza dough as directed on package. With fingers greased, press onto bottom and halfway upsides of greased 9x13-inch pan or casserole dish. Cover with half of Mozzarella cheese and meat sauce; repeat with remaining cheese and meat sauce. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Bake at 425 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
I found a second recipe for this Deep Dish Pizza that has no instructions but an ingredient list that includes mushrooms but not the 16 oz. can of tomatoes:
DEEP DISH PIZZA
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup green bell pepper
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
1 pkg. Chef Boyardee Cheese Pizza mix
2 pkg. (6 oz. each) Kraft Natural Low moisture, part skim Mozzarella cheese slices

Dear Mosi,
I hope someone will have the exact recipe you're looking for. In the meantime, here are 2 recipes for you to check out. Neither uses fennel seed but that would be any easy addition when making the sauce (I would experiment starting with 1/8-14 teaspoon).
Happy Cooking!
