Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, BarsPEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE KISS THUMBPRINTS
1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup chunky-style peanut butter
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 (13 ounce) package chocolate Kiss candies, unwrapped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Position oven rack in middle of oven. Set aside 2 ungreased cookie sheets.
In large mixing bowl, mix (dry) cake mix, sweetened condensed milk, peanut butter, egg and vanilla with electric mixer set on low speed for 1-2 minutes, until all dry ingredients are moistened and dough is well blended (dough will be very thick).
Shape dough into 1-inch balls and position 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
Bake 8-10 minutes, until firm to the touch at the edges and slightly puffed in appearance. Remove sheets from oven and immediately push a Kiss candy, flat side down, into center of each cookie. Cool 1 minute on sheets. Transfer to wire racks with metal spatula and cool completely.
VARIATION:
PEANUT BUTTER CARAMEL THUMBPRINTS:
Prepare as directed above but use chocolate-covered caramel candies (such as Rolos) in place of Kiss candies.
Makes 8-10 servings
