ISO: German or Austrian house salad dressing

I am looking for a recipe for the house salad dressing that is served at German/Austrian restaurants. I have been to three different German restaurants and their house salad dressing all had the same taste. It's a vinaigrette type dressing with dill weed and minced onions. It does have a strong onion taste sort of like an onion soup mix. Thank you for your help!
