ISO: What do I plant in a Hot environment?

Misc.
I am in search of good hardy plants that will can withstand hot temperatures in Florida. I am basicly starting over since when we moved to this house there was just grass and a few large trees. I want something that makes you feel relaxed and enjoy being in the yard. DO any of you have any ideas on what to do?

Thank you in advance,
Venus
