Recipe: Chocolate Waffles (Waring blender recipe, 1960's)

Breakfast and Brunch
CHOCOLATE WAFFLES


2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons double-acting baking powder
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, cut into pieces
1/2 cup hot milk
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup milk
Whipped cream (for serving)

Into mixing bowl sift flour and baking powder together; set aside.

Into blender container put chocolate and hot milk. Cover and blend on high speed for 20 seconds. Add eggs, sugar, salt, butter and vanilla. Cover and blend on high speed for 15 seconds. After 5 seconds, uncover and add 1 cup milk.

Pour chocolate mixture over dry ingredients and mix lightly.

Bake in hot waffle iron.

Serve hot with whipped cream.

Makes 8 waffles
