Thank You: Home Bakery Pink Champagne Cake - History

Misc.
History of this famous cake:
I was Born in 1952, St Helena CA, my family bought a new house in Vallejo 1953. Our next door neighbor was Mr. Frank Wright, (a famous local baker not the famous Architect). He owned and operated "Wrights Bakery" in Vallejo's downtown lower Georgia St. He held the tile of creator of the "Pink Champagne Cake," and as far back as I can remember it was our cake of choice for all birthdays in our family through the 50's and 60's. He closed down the bakery in the early 70's and "sold" (for a good $$ amount) the famous pink cake recipe to Vallejo's long established "Home Bakery." He too went to work at Home Bakery for a few years and then soon retired. Sometime in the late 70's early 80's as I recall the "Home Bakery" closed down and sold the Pink recipe to Napa's (next town North of Vallejo) "Buttercream Bakery," which is still in operation in Napa and still makes the famous duplicate cake Mr. Wright came up with some 60+ years ago. "Buttercream Bakery" is on the web.
The problem with shipping this cake, as some would love, is it needs refrigeration.
The only difference I can detect from the original "Wrights" cake and "Buttercream's" is Wright would put very small, half the size of "BB's" silver sugar balls on top of the frosting.
Thanks all here for working out this recipe and sharing of course, and I, as an entry level Baking Student at the Culinary Department of Woodland College, Lake County Campus, at age 67, am going to make this cake, (I prefer the from scratch recipie) this weekend. 2-14-2019 Wes in SF bay.
