Recipe(tried): French Breakfast Puffs

Misc.
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
6 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Cream shortening, 1/2 cup sugar, egg.

Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.

Add to creamed mixture.

Alternate with milk, beating well after each addition.

Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes.

Remove from pan immediately.

Dip in melted butter and then sugar, cinnamon mixture till top is coated.

Makes 12
