VICKI:
Good Morning Vicki. There is a item called Magi-Cake Strips, you wrap them around the 8 or 9 inch round cake pans & that proceedure inhibits the cake from crowning on top. They can be purchased at your local restaurant supply house or thru culinary catalog sales. a pair costs approx. $8 to $10 dollars.
Now then Vickie, there are at least 7 reasons why your cake has this problem, from an un-even stove level to insuffienct baking temp. in your oven, to improper mixing techinque. If you like post your recipe & it's directions & we can scrutinize it to see if the recipe is properly balanced. Recipes are not written in stone. I just placed the ball in your court Vickie. Have a nice day young lady.
