Recipe: Homemade Cream of Tomato Soup (using stewed tomatoes)

CREAM OF TOMATO SOUP

1 (16 oz) can stewed tomatoes
1/2 cup finely diced onions
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp flour
1 1/2 cups milk

Combine tomatoes, onions, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes over low heat.

In small saucepan, melt butter, add flour and stir in milk. Stirring constantly until thickened.

Slowly add hot tomatoes, stirring constantly, Heat through.
