Recipe(tried): Rice a Roni copycat

I got this from one of the Tightwad Gazette books (#III, I think):

Rice a Roni

1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1 cp. rice
8 oz. spaghetti, broken into 1 in. pieces
4 tbsp. margarine
4 cups broth
salt and pepper

Brown beef and onion. Drain. Remove from pan. Brown rice and spaghetti in butter. Add beef, onion, and broth. Cook and simmer for 20 min. or until rice and spaghetti are fully cooked. Season to taste.
