Recipe: Summer picnic menu for elderly...just a thought (or two)
Holidays, CelebrationsNo matter how old we are, I think that memories of past summer picnics dictate that you have the typical foods that they remember. Potato salad is a must and you could just dice the potatoes a little smaller or even have a really good "smashed potato salad". Chicken would be a good choice but the nursing home where my MIL lives serves chicken tenders so that even shaky hands can just pick up each piece easily. Deviled eggs would be a good choice also, I think.
