ISO: Dates stuffed with Fudge?

Misc.
When I was a child my Puerto Rican/Hawaiian mother would make a treat at Christmas. It was dates that were stuffed with fudge and sprinkled with what I think was ground almonds on top. Does anyone recognize this or know the name or have a recipe. I mean I can stuff a date with fudge, but I'd really like to know if this a traditional treat and if there is more to it. I remembered I really loved them, but that was the undiscriminating palate of a kid with a sweet tooth! Thanks
