ISO: Microwave the milk?

I wonder if it's best to take the milk out of the can and microwave it,
covered, for 15 minutes or so. (How would you convert "boiling in a can for 3
hours" to microwaving out of the can?) Why 3 hours? Wouldn't the point just
be to make it runny? I would think that would happen much sooner than that.

I wouldn't be too quick to boil a can, either. Wouldn't be a pretty way to
"go."
