ISO: Taffy Apple Pie
Misc.I had this dessert years ago in a now defunct restaurant called "Doc Weeds" in
the Chicago area. It didn't have a traditional pie crust. It had layers of
thinly sliced fresh apples, either peanuts or chunky peanut butter, and
possibly caramel on top.
I don't think that it was cooked at all or maybe briefly to melt the caramel.
I say this because the apples were still crisp. Anyway it was a nice dessert
because it tasted so fresh. It was very popular at the restaurant but I've
never seen a recipe for it in my travels. Does anyone know what I'm talking
about? Thanks!
