ISO: Spice Cake with Applesauce Frosting
Misc.ADVERTISEMENT
When I was a little girl, every Christmas my Aunt would make a cake that would melt in your mouth. It was a moist spice-type cake that had the most unusal applesauce frosting. It wasn't a runny glaze, but it also was not thick like a typical frosting. Unfortunately she passed away before I was old enough to get the recipe and no one else in the family remembers how she made it. Has anyone heard of or made such a cake with this type of applesauce frosting? It had to be an heirloom recipe, that was almost fifty years ago and she made it long before I was born. Would greatly appreciate a reply.
