I once read an article that gave tips on simply adding fiber to favorite dishes. For instance, if your child likes hamburgers, add wheatgerm or bran into the chopped meat before cooking, or into meatballs too. You can also cut certain fiber rich fruits or veggies with a cookie cutter to make fun shapes out of good-for-you foods. Making cookies and using mashed dates and figs instead of sugar is another way to add fiber and nutrients to snacking. Strawberries are rich in fiber too - and what kid doesn't like strawberries and whipped cream? Add a sprinkle of wheat germ on top too. You'll think of lots of other ways to add fiber once you get started. Good luck!
