Recipe(tried): Pickled Sweet Peppers

Misc.
Hi Carlotta! Here is a recipe for Pickled Peppers these are whole peppers, if you want to have pepper slices you could slice them the next day & pack as slices rather than whole.

Pickled Peppers
Thoroughly wash peppers.Make small slit in each one in two places.

Put the peppers in a brine made of:
1 gallon water to 2 cups of salt.(Use either PLAIN salt or pickling salt ,NOT IODIZED.

Use weight to hold peppers under brine.Next day drain well.& pack peppers into sterilizied canning jars.

Make a pickling solution of:
1 gallon water
1 c.salt(Plain or pickling salt,not iodized)
1 c.vinegar
1 clove garlic
1 grape leaf(opt.)
1 bunch dill
Bring the solution to the boiling point, pour over peppers in jars,(check for air bubbles)filling & sealing one jar at a time with boiling solution.Enjoy!
