Recipe: 7 Recipes Using Beef Cubes

QUICK BEEF CUBES
2 lbs. stew meat
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can French onion soup
Rice or noodles
In a frying pan brown meat, add cans of soup, do not add any water. Simmer for 1 hour. Serve over rice, noodles or toast tips. This can also be made in a crock pot. Just put in raw meat, soups, and cook all day. You can add fresh mushrooms, onions or celery.

BEEF CUBES
1 lb. round steak
1 sm. onion
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Margarine or butter
Cut round steak into 1" cubes. Brown round steak in small amount of margarine or butter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper as needed. Chop onions and add to beef cubes. After cubes are browned, add 1 can cream of mushroom soup and about 1/2 to 3/4 cans of water. Add Kitchen Bouquet until gravy is a rich brown color. Lower heat and simmer at least 1 1/2 hours. Longer is better. Add more water if sauce is too thick. Serve over noodles or rice.

SAVORY BEEF CUBES
2 lb. chuck beef cubes
1 can mushroom soup
1 pkg. instant onion soup
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
1 (4 oz.) can beef broth or red wine
Mix above ingredients. Seal tightly and bake in 300 degree oven for 3 hours. Serve over rice.


BEEF CUBES IN SOUR CREAM
2 lbs. meat from beef shank, cut in 1
inch cubes
2 med. onions, sliced
1/2 c. dairy sour cream
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. grated American cheese
Salt and pepper
Roll meat in flour; brown in hot fat. Add onion. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over meat. Cover tightly and cook slowly until tender, about 2 hours. Makes 6 servings.


SWEET AND SOUR BEEF CUBES
3 lb. beef chuck steak, cut into 1 1/2
inch cubes (shoulder roast)
3/4 c. ketchup
2 tbsp. vinegar
Flour
1 1/2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
4 tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. water
3 onions
Trim all the fat off the meat and cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes. Put a large scoop of flour into plastic bag and put the beef cubes on top. Shake so the flour coats all the beef cubes. Put the coated cubes into a large casserole or Dutch oven. Slice the 3 onions thin and place them over the beef. Mix together all the other ingredients and pour over the onions. Bake in a covered pan at 250 to 300 degrees for 3 hours.


BEEF CUBES & POTATOES
1 1/2 lbs. beef cubes
1 chopped onion
3 or 4 potatoes
1 tsp. salt
Little thyme
Little garlic salt
3 tsp. flour
2 c. water
Flour beef cubes. Brown on all sides. Add onion then put in casserole and add 3 teaspoons of flour and 2 cups water, salt, pinch of thyme and garlic salt. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, covered. Then add 3 or 4 thinly sliced potatoes and uncover and raise temperature to 450 degrees. Cook approximately 45 minutes.


CURRIED BEEF CUBES
1 sm. white unsliced loaf of bread
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 tbsp. oil
4 tsp. curry powder
Remove crusts from loaf and cut into 3/4-inch cubes. Heat butter or margarine and oil together in frying pan. Stir in curry powder. Fry bread cubes until golden brown and crisp. Drain well before serving.
