A girl at work buys the brownies in the refrigerated section that are already scored and ready to bake. She takes one of the squares and rolls it into a ball and bakes at the temperature on the package - but shortens the cooking time for what you would normally bake a cookie for. The cookies end up pretty big, if you wanted smaller ones you could do half a square for each cookie. Also, I don't know if she uses it or not, but I use parchment paper - they are very sofrt, moist and chewy cookies.
