Recipe: Fudge Nut Bars (using condensed milk, chocolate chips and oats)

1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 (15 oz.) can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup chopped nuts, divided use
3 tsp. vanilla, divided use
1 cup margarine (2 sticks), softened
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp salt
3 cups rolled oats, uncooked
1/4 cup chopped nuts
Melt over hot water the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and butter, Add 3/4 cup nuts and 2 teaspoons vanilla; set aside.
Cream together the margarine and brown sugar. Add eggs and remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla; beat well.
Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Mix into the egg mixture. Add oats and nuts. Press 2/3 of this cookie mixture into a large greased pan, about 10x16-inches. Spread with the fudge mixture. Sprinkle remaining cookie mixture over the fudge filling.
Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 to 23 minutes. Do not overbake.
