Recipe: Aunt Cheryl's Candied Yams (using red hots and marshmallows)

Side Dishes - Potatoes
AUNT CHERYL'S CANDIED YAMS

2 large cans sweet potatoes (yams)
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1 package cinnamon candies (red hots)
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 bags mini marshmallows

Drain yams and put in microwave proof glass casserole dish. Add butter and red hots - microwave until butter melts.

Use electric mixer and mix like mashed potatoes. Add brown sugar and 1 bag marshmallows - mix and microwave until melted and blended.

Put 2nd bag of marshmallows on top and brown in 350 degree F oven for approximately 10-15 minutes.

I haven't tried this recipe but it looks like it might be too sweet for some with the brown sugar and two bags of marshmallows. If making this, I would not use the marshmallows stirred into the sweet potatoes, but just add a single layer of marshmallows to the top before baking.

Just a suggestion,
