Recipe(tried): Carol, I always cook.............

Misc.
rutabagas. This is how I cook them.

RUTABAGAS

Peel, slice into thin pieces, and wash rutabagas. Put in a large pot. Add 2-3 tsps. canola oil, salt, pinch of sugar, and a light sprinkling of pepper. Stir the rutabagas around until the slices are coated with oil. Add water until it covers the rutabagas. Start cooking on HIGH until the water boils. Reduce the heat to LOW and simmer. Check after 25-30 minutes to see if the rutabagas are tender. If not, cook until they are tender enough for you. Add water as needed to the pot until the rutabagas are done.

Thanks for the tip about raw rutabagas. I've never even thought about eating them raw.

Enjoy, Carol!
