Recipe(tried): Italian Sausage Sandwiches

Misc.
This recipe is so great for a crowd and easy because you can double or even triple it and it comes out great. The basic recipe is as follows:

Italian Sausage Sausage Sandwiches

3 lbs. Hamburger
1 - 1/2 lbs. Italian Sausage
2 cans (small) pizza sauce
1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
1/2 cup water (if needed)
1 tsp oregano
1/4 cup onions
Salt & pepper to taste
2 loafs French bread or Italian Bread
Large package mozzarrella or cheddar cheese shredded

Cook hamburger and Italian sausage, oregano, and onions until throughly browned. Drain off excess grease. Add pizza sauce, tomato sauce and water if mixture is too thick. Salt & Pepper to taste.

Cut open the loaves of bread and pinch out some of the bread from the top and bottom. (Save this for croutons at another time). Fill bottom layer with shredded cheese. Add Sausage & Hamburger mixture. Top with more cheese. Wrap with aluminum foil and put in 400 degree oven and bake about 10 min. or until cheese is thoroughly. Slice and enjoy. This makes two large loaves and you may freeze one loaf and serve at another time.
