Recipe(tried): Keeping celery fresh and crisp

Tips and Tricks - Cooking
ADVERTISEMENT
A month or so ago I read somewhere that wrapping fresh celery tightly in aluminum foil would keep it fresh and crisp.
It works!!!!!
I had just bought a bunch of celery, I used a small amount of it and wrapped the rest tightly in foil. Today I needed celery to make potato soup, and lo and behold there it was in the vegetable drawer in the foil, just as fresh as the day I bought it.
I have used celery keepers, vegetable bags, etc., but the celery always gets limp and unpalatable after about a week.
I can't believe it took me all these years to find out about the foil solution.
Just thought this was worth passing along.
